By moving from nano lasers to femto laser technology, ZECHA has achieved a significant leap in processing PCD blanks. While nano lasers already enabled high precision, femto lasers take it further by producing even finer, burr-free edges with minimal thermal influence on the material. This ultra-short pulse technology reduces micro-cracks and heat-affected zones, resulting in sharper cutting edges, higher dimensional stability, and longer tool life. Certain tools in the MARLIN 3D LASER Series are equipped with an integrated coolant supply and a unique wave-shaped wiper design—features that make all the difference when machining ultra-hard materials. The internal shank cooling channels deliver lubricant precisely to the cutting edges, even at high spindle speeds, ensuring optimal temperature control and effective chip evacuation. At the same time, the wiper geometry accelerates coolant flow outward, flushing chips from the cutting zone.
