The MARLIN 3D LASER Series represents ZECHA’s next leap in precision tooling, engineered specifically for machining ultra-hard materials such as ceramics and solid carbide. By harnessing state-of-the-art laser technology, this series enables the creation of highly complex 3D geometries with unparalleled accuracy and efficiency. With finely tuned cutting edges, integrated cooling solutions, and the ability to handle the most demanding applications, the MARLIN 3D Series redefines what is possible in high-performance milling.

PCD LASERED WITH THE NEWEST FEMTO TECHNOLOGY

By moving from nano lasers to femto laser technology, ZECHA has achieved a significant leap in processing PCD blanks. While nano lasers already enabled high precision, femto lasers take it further by producing even finer, burr-free edges with minimal thermal influence on the material. This ultra-short pulse technology reduces micro-cracks and heat-affected zones, resulting in sharper cutting edges, higher dimensional stability, and longer tool life. For customers, this means PCD tools with superior performance, reliability, and consistency in the most demanding applications.

EXTREME ACCURACY IN THE HARDEST MATERIALS

With their ultra-precise geometries and advanced femto-laser processing of PCD blanks, the MARLIN 3D LASER Series tools are built to master the toughest machining challenges.  Their optimized cutting edges minimize heat and wear, ensuring both efficiency and exceptional surface quality. This makes MARLIN the perfect choice for milling the most difficult materials—something you can see in action in the video below.

    INTEGRATED COOLANT

Certain tools in the MARLIN 3D LASER Series are equipped with an integrated coolant supply and a unique wave-shaped wiper design—features that make all the difference when machining ultra-hard materials. The internal shank cooling channels deliver lubricant precisely to the cutting edges, even at high spindle speeds, ensuring optimal temperature control and effective chip evacuation. At the same time, the wiper geometry accelerates coolant flow outward, flushing chips from the cutting zone. Together, these innovations reduce friction and tool wear while improving surface quality, making the MARLIN series exceptionally reliable for continuous, high-performance milling.

  • ProtocolHeader

Our measurement protocol is a premium quality assurance service available for select high-end tools. After machining, each tool is individually measured and documented for its exact dimensions. This data is printed on a dedicated label affixed to the tool’s packaging, so you have precise specs in-hand—literally. No guesswork, just exact numbers you can rely on when precision is critical.

DIAMETER AND RUNOUT MEASURED TO ONE MICRON

Both diameter and concentricity (runout) are measured with a precision of 1 micron—that’s 0.001 mm. For comparison, the average human hair is about 70 microns thick, so we’re dealing with measurements at the edge of visibility. These two values—diameter and concentricity—are then combined to determine the tool’s effective diameter.

    RunoutExplainer1
    RunoutExplainer2

Why is this crucial? Because it’s the effective diameter that defines the actual cut the tool will make in your material. Without this data, your CAM software is only guessing. With it, you get exact compensation, tighter tolerances, and more reliable, high-precision results.

ULTIMATE PRECISION FOR THE JOBS THAT REQUIRE IT

When every micron matters, this protocol gives you the edge. By combining real tool data with your digital workflow, you gain total control over toolpath accuracy—ideal for dental implant components, aerospace-grade parts, or any application where absolute precision is a must. It’s not just a tool—it’s calibrated confidence.
